Coming Soon From TCI: History Alive! Pursuing American Ideals
Following fast on the heels of the successful launch of Geography Alive! Regions and People, our curriculum developers have been working hard to bring you their latest innovative project: History Alive! Pursuing American Ideals.
Created for the high school classroom, the program uses the highly acclaimed TCI Approach to engage students in the study of the five founding ideals embodied in the Declaration of Independence: equality, rights, liberty, opportunity, and democracy. Students take part in exciting hands-on activities and use a wealth of primary sources to analyze, debate, and experience for themselves how generations of Americans have struggled to live up to these ideals.
History Alive! Pursuing American Ideals will build your students' historical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and writing fluency as it creatively challenges them to understand how American ideals shape our nation's past, present, and future.
History Alive! Pursuing American Ideals will be available in summer 2007. For more information, see the product description on the TCI website. But why wait for the whole caboodle? Request a copy of our program preview today by contacting TCI's Customer Support at 800-497-6138 or support@teachtci.com.

Join TCI's Discussion Groups Online
Do you have great ideas for using TCI materials in the classroom? Are you looking for creative new teaching tips? Look no further: you can join other like-minded educators on our dynamic discussion groups. You can think of our boards as a virtual teachers' lounge.
We have created three parallel discussion groups for
elementary,
middle school,
and high school teachers. Each is moderated by a teacher expert who is both a classroom teacher and a TCI trainer, and who has a deep understanding of how classrooms work. Join in an informal conversation with teachers from around the country to ask questions, find ideas for your own classroom, and share your own best practices.
We have also created a
classroom technology discussion board where you can exchange ideas, tips, and solutions with educational peers specifically for using technology in the classroom.
Everyone is welcome to visit our discussion groups, whether you currently use TCI in your classroom or are just learning about the TCI Approach. We think you will find them an invaluable professional resource.
Notes From the Frontline: Customer Satisfaction Survey Results
We recently conducted a customer satisfaction survey so that we could hear from you how we're doing meeting your needs and learn your thoughts on ways we can better serve you.
We were delighted to learn that most of you are very satisfied with the service you receive from us. We heard valuable suggestions for improvements you'd like to see on our website such as adding correlations to your state standards and sharing information about the conferences and TCI events in your area. You might also be interested to know that those of you who have more contact with TCI or who know a TCI rep by name are the most satisfied with our customer service.
What will TCI do with all of this great input? We're currently working on implementing some of the suggestions you had for our website. We'll also be sending more regular editions of our TCI eNews filled with valuable tips and information.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to complete our survey. We'll be conducting annual surveys from now on. Visit our Breaking News article for more detailed information on what we heard from you and some of the exciting changes coming your way.
