Lesson 13:
The following sites will help students as they develop their television commercials.

For another look at Idaho's capital and largest city, students can visit the Official Website of the City of Boise. The site contains links to local government, the Boise economy, and parks and recreation. Students may also want to consult the Boise Convention & Visitor's Bureau for city history, transportation, education, and employment information.

To learn more about the Mile High City, students can visit the website of the City and County of Denver. The site contains links to pages dealing with the government, economy, history, and business of the city. The Denver Post Online provides current events and special features regarding the capital of Colorado.

Las Vegas is well represented on the Web, with the City of Las Vegas Home Page leading the way. The official city site offers information about the government and economy of the city as well as sites detailing the park system. A collection of images from Early Las Vegas can be seen at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries. For additional information on entertainment, students can consult the commercial sites of vegas.com and lasvegas.com.

The City of Portland Home Page and the Portland Visitors Association are the best web resources for the largest city in Oregon. The official city website has a great deal of information on government, while the visitors' site has various subtopics that will prove helpful for students.

A visit to the Salt Lake City website will provide students with the nuts and bolts regarding Utah's capital. The Salt Lake Tribune, the state's largest newspaper, is also a great reference, as is Visit Salt Lake from the city's travel bureau. For Olympic information, students should consult the official website of the 2002 Winter Olympics.

San Jose's official website offers information about the city's government, business, and entertainment. The San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau and sanjose.com are also full of information and links about San Jose and Silicon Valley.

For information on Seattle, students can visit the city's official web page, with links to current events, government organizations, and visitor information. Seattle.net and seattle.com are two commercial sites with a wealth of information. The two major newspapers, the Seattle Times and the Seattle Post Intelligencer, are also excellent resources for the Emerald City.
