Lesson 14 - 17
The following sites are collections of links to all 50 states. Each site can be very helpful for students and teachers in preparing for the activities of Lessons 14-17.

50states.com - This commercial site provides information and links for all of the states of the Union. The site includes general information about the states as well as directories for newspapers and headlines, sports, and politics.

Stateline.org - If you are searching for political information about any state, this is a great resource. Organized and published by the Pew Center on the States at Richmond University, this site provides a wealth of information about public laws and the government of each state. Some of the text and information is advanced, so teachers may find this more to their liking.

TheUS50 - According to their website, the U.S. 50 provides a world class website consisting of concise, important and meaningful information about each of the 50 states in our great country. The site has several categories for each state, including History, Geography, Outdoors, Tourism, State Products, and State Links. There is also a Fun and Games section with quizzes for each of the 50 states!

All 50 American States Home Pages - This simple commercial site from Global Computing has direct links to the home pages of all 50 states.

Explore the States - This site from the Library of Congress provides interesting tidbits of information about each state. While basic facts are provided, the site is more valuable for finding fascinating stories about each state.

National Association of Secretaries of State - This website from the National Organization of Secretaries of State provides links to the official sites of all 50 secretaries of state. Most secretary of state sites have kids' pages with excellent information and fun activities.

For information on buildings and architecture, teachers and students can consult American Architecture for Kids and Digital Archive of American Architecture.
