Agricultural Changes in the Nation's Breadbasket
Lesson 9:
Pioneer Farming from Camp Silos provides an introduction to pioneer farming in the Midwest, specifically Iowa. The site also contains a section called Farming Today and Tomorrow.

Troublesome Creek is a companion website to a PBS documentary of the same name, chronicling an Iowa family's struggle to keep their farm. The site has a transcript of the video, maps and charts detailing farming challenges of the past 100 years, a timeline of farming, and a photo gallery and update of the Jordan family farm.

PBS also has a website for their documentary called Death of a Dream - Farmhouses in the Heartland. The documentary weaves a tapestry combining images of vanishing farmhouses with stories of historians, farm experts, and people who lived the dream of life on the farm.

The official Farm Aid website not only details the history of the benefit concert, but it also contains a great deal of information concerning the current plight of the American farmer.
